About the course

The Cambridge English Qualifications programme at the British School of Commerce (BSC), Colombo is designed to help learners develop practical English language skills and communicate with greater confidence in academic, professional and everyday situations.

Covering A2 Key (KET), B1 Preliminary (PET) and B2 First (FCE), the programme provides a structured pathway for learners to progress step by step while developing the four essential language skills of Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Each level combines practical communication, vocabulary and grammar development with focused preparation for the relevant Cambridge English examination.

Course Modules

A2 Key (KET)

A2 Key is designed for learners with a basic understanding of English who want to build a strong foundation and communicate more confidently in everyday situations. The programme develops essential vocabulary, grammar and practical communication skills while introducing learners to the Cambridge A2 Key examination format.

Learners develop English for common situations such as work, travel, shopping, health, technology and everyday communication, with structured practice across Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

English for Higher Education & Professional Success

The programme develops more advanced grammar, vocabulary and communication skills through topics such as education, careers, travel, finance, health and contemporary issues. Learners receive integrated language and skills development together with focused preparation for the B2 First examination across Reading & Use of English, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

Class Schedule
